Text Box: City of Sumner Sumner, Washington is a small city of about 10,000 residents, located in Pierce County, approximately 30 miles south of Seattle and 15 miles east of Tacoma. It’s a community that still has the “1950’s small town character” that everyone envisions from our past. However, Sumner has many new residential developments throughout the community along with small and large businesses that call it home, a new transit center for trains and buses while still maintaining the small town character we all love. Sumner has many parks and places for enjoyment including Sumner Meadows Golf Course and the Ryan House Museum in the heart of downtown and part of the Sumner Arts Festival.
